Arguable de meest invloedrijke film in de serie. We duiken in het verleden van James Bond, en geven steeds meer background en 'menselijkheid' aan onze super spion. We zien een hele hoop leonardodicaprio-wijzend-naar-scherm monentjes met hartje-london film locaties, en een aantal plottwists die honestly well done zijn Onze bondbaddie deze keer wordt vertolkt door Javier Bardem die ex 00-agent Silva speelt. Zijn performance steelt honestly de show met zijn 'crazy as fuck wrapped in sweetness' attitude die ronduit disturbing at times is Onze bondgirl dit keer word gespeeld door Berenice Marlohe als Severine, opgevolgd door onze eerste actie-vertolking van de enige echte Moneypenny, gespeeld door Naomi Harris. Beiden performances waren decent, maar nou niet uit uitmuitend. De finale van de film met het sterven van M en de gehele actiemontage eromheen, is imo het draagvlak van de film. De rest is een decent bond film, maar naar mijn mening niet de beste in de reeks, ondanks dat deze de meeste bekendheid genoot toen het uitkwam
